"November is the pearl-gray month, the changeling between warm crimson October and cold white December, the month when the leaves fall in slow drifting whirls and the shapes of the trees are revealed, when the earth imperceptibly wakes, and stretches her bare limbs and displays her stubborn unconquerable strength before she settles uneasily into winter. November is secret and silent." — Alison Uttley
NOVEMBER… is the changeling child between October and December; but it is the threshold, the door that swings wide open and welcomes the sparkling holiday season with open arms. A season of tables laden with the bounty from the harvest, and families gathering. A time of warming soups and welcoming fireplaces, of twinkling lights, parades, too much pumpkin pie, too many cookies, another inch added to the waistline and definitely not enough spiked eggnog. It’s the beginning of the season that ends one year and welcomes another, causing much reflection and always hoping that the next one will be better than the one which has gone before. A wonderful and hopeful time of the year as landscapes turn gray, nights grow longer and every window sparkles with life.
